PixelPore
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 26, 2026
PixelPore analyzes a selfie with YouCam-powered AI and suggests skincare products. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your photo, your results and your account.
Your photo
- Before anything is sent, a face-position check runs on your device. Camera frames and photos used for this check never leave your device.
- When you press Continue, your photo is sent through PixelPore's server to the YouCam AI Skin Analysis API (Perfect Corp.) to get your scores.
- PixelPore does not save your photo on its servers. YouCam keeps uploaded files and results for a limited time (24 hours, according to its documentation) under its own policies.
- A small thumbnail of your scan is kept in your own browser so you can see your history. You can delete it any time.
Scanning a product
- When you scan a product barcode, it is read on your device. Photos of products are never uploaded.
- Only the barcode number is sent, through PixelPore's server, to Open Beauty Facts to look the product up. No account details are sent with it.
- Pasted ingredient lists are checked in your browser and are not sent anywhere.
Your account
If you sign up or log in, Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with PixelPore. They are kept in a signed, HTTP-only session cookie so you stay logged in (up to 30 days). PixelPore does not receive your Google password.
Your saved scan results
- When you are signed in, the scores, labels and date of each scan (up to your 24 most recent) are saved to a database (Upstash Redis) under an identifier from your Google account. No photo, name or email is saved there.
- They expire after a year, and you can remove them any time from Profile, then Delete my data. That also clears what PixelPore keeps in your browser.
- Your plan, name and scan thumbnails stay only in your browser.
Other services involved
- YouCam / Perfect Corp.: skin analysis.
- Google: sign-in, and the face-detection model file loaded in your browser.
- Vercel: website hosting, which keeps standard server logs.
- Upstash: storage for saved scan results.
- Open Beauty Facts: a free, community-edited cosmetics database used to look up scanned barcodes.
- Skincare brands: product photos load from each brand's website, and Shop links open the brand's own store in a new tab. Their sites have their own policies.
What PixelPore does not do
- It does not sell your data, show ads or use your photo to identify you.
- It does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Your IP address is used briefly in the server's memory to limit how many scans one visitor can run, and is not stored.
- It is not directed at children under 13.
Not medical advice
Results are AI-generated skincare insights, not a medical diagnosis. Talk to a clinician about any skin concern.
